It appeared without warning in today's Circuits section of the New York Times: "Beginning next Thursday, as part of a reorganization of technology news coverage, the weekly Circuits pages will appear in Business Day, with David Pogue's column on the front page of that section. "
And thus was announced the demise of my second favorite section in the NYT (the food section, particularly when it has a feature by Nigella Lawson, is my favorite.) Oh, they were quick to say that the various features would be incorporated into other sections of the paper. And that there would be several "special editions" of Circuits throughout the year. But it won't be the same. Makes me wonder what happened? Was advertising down? Did the powers that be decide that technology didn't deserve it's own section? It's baffling and boggling. But time to say bye bye.
